China sends first peacekeeping medical team to Lebanon
中国首支赴黎巴嫩维和医疗分队出征

  On the evening of Jan. 27, China's first peacekeeping medical team to Lebanon left Chengdu for Beirut, capital of Lebanon, on board a UN chartered flight. In Lebanon, the Chinese medical peacekeepers will set up a second-class peacekeeping hospital to fulfill the missions of providing medical treatment and emergency rescue entrusted by the UN.

  The medical team is made up of 60 officers and men from the General Hospital of the Chengdu Military Area Command and the Sichuan-Tibet Military Service Station Department and so on. Among them, there are 6 MDs and 19 Masters of Medical Science. They were given only two months to complete all the training subjects before heading for Lebanon. During the closed training period, they went through the trainings of battlefield casualty treatment, basic military skills, knowledge on NBC protection, etiquettes in foreign affairs and English. As a result, their capabilities in battlefield casualty treatment, field survival, safety protection and emergency handling have been enhanced.

  本报成都1月27日电 李若梦、记者杨彪报道:中国首支赴黎巴嫩维和医疗分队今晚乘联合国包机直飞黎巴嫩首都贝鲁特。赴黎巴嫩后,他们将组建一所维和二级医院,担负联合国赋予的医疗救助任务。

  这支分队共有60名官兵,从成都军区总医院、川藏兵站部等单位抽调,其中博士6人、硕士19人。从领受任务到部队组建短短两个月里,他们顺利完成了野战救治技能、军事基础课目、"三防"知识、外事礼仪、公共英语等封闭式集训,增强了战场救治能力、野战生存能力、安全防卫能力及突发事件处置能力。
