Yesterday, the reporters learned from China Resources Satellite
Application Center that China had made a series of important achievements
of international advanced level in satellite remote-sensing application,
and through which huge social and economic benefits had been created.
Since the delivery of ZY (Resources) Earth Recourse Satellite 01 for
regular operation, the center has developed more than 100,000 data
products of all categories. These data products have been put into
extensive use in many fields such as agriculture, forestry, water
conservancy, land resources, urban planning, environmental protection and
disaster monitoring and forecasting, and played important roles
particularly in major state projects, such as the South-North Water
Diversion Project, Qinghai-Tibet Railway, West-to-East Natural Gas
Transportation Project, Western Region Development, thus greatly promoting
economic and social development.
In the next five years China will embark on the construction of
high-definition Earth observation system project, integrate the existing
remote-sensing satellite ground systems, intensify construction of
infrastructure, strengthen technological innovation and enhance
application research and strive to build up the Earth observation system.

本报北京12月14日电 绪光、记者别义勋报道：记者今天从中国资源卫星应用中心获悉，我国卫星遥感应用事业取得了一系列国际水平的重要成果，创造了巨大的社会效益和经济效益。自资源一号卫星01星交付至今，中心已分发各类数据产品10万余景。这些数据产品在我国农业、林业、水利、国土资源、城市规划、环境保护、灾害监测等众多领域得到广泛应用，尤其在南水北调、青藏铁路、西气东输、三峡工程、西部开发等国家重点工程中发挥了重要作用，有力地促进了经济和社会发展。
未来5年我国将启动高分辨率对地观测系统工程，整合现有遥感卫星地面系统，进一步加强基础建设，强化技术创新，加大应用研究力度，努力为建设国家对地观测体系而奋斗。
