For several days running, new recruits from all
over China kept arriving at the New Recruits Division of the Tibet
Military Command stationed in Chengdu. This division is tasked with the
training and transshipping of the Tibet bound new recruits during their
pre-assignment stay in Chengdu. In order to make sure that quality support
is provided to the new recruits in terms of meals, accommodation, medical
service and training, this division has set up a special transshipment
support team this year to make sure that all the transfer work are done
well and in a down-to-earth manner.
To see to it that the new recruits will get enough delicious food and
enjoy the right quality of food they are entitled to, the division has
taken the trouble to select and assign the competent cooks and even opened
special dining halls for the new recruits from different ethnic groups.
In addition, the division also set up several medical teams before
the arrival of the new recruits. Besides giving physical check up for the
new recruits, these medical teams also provide 24-hour clinical service
for them, and make their rounds of visits to every squad and platoon.
To make sure that the new recruits will be able to proceed to Tibet
safely and smoothly, this division will also organize the new recruits to
carry out various trainings and education, such as trainings on traveling
by vehicle and by air so as to get them fully prepared for entering Tibet.

本报成都11月23日电 刘卫华、张婷报道：几天来，全国各地进藏新兵陆续抵达设在成都的西藏军区新兵师。该新兵师担负着进藏新兵在成都期间的驻训、转运任务。为了使新战士吃、住、医、训等得到有效保障，今年新兵师专门成立中转保障小组，履职尽责，扎实做好中转保障工作。
为让新战友吃饱、吃好、吃够标准，他们为新兵驻训转运站选配厨师，，并为少数民族籍新战士开设了餐厅。
新兵师在新战士到达之前成立了多个医疗队。各医疗队除了对新兵进行体格复查外，还开设全天候诊室，不间断地到各班、排巡诊。
为保证新兵顺利安全进藏，新兵师还将组织新兵开展各项教育训练，进行乘车、登机演练，全面做好进藏准备。
