The Long March, a Chinese national
musical symphony with synchronous background TV pictures, was created and
performed by the Qianwei Art Troupe of the Political Department of the
Jinan Military Area Command. Upon the invitation of the Art Department of
the Ministry of Culture, the troupe gave report-back performances in
Beijing recently and was widely praised by the audience from the military
and civilians in the capital. Yesterday morning, a symposium was held
under the sponsorship of the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture,
the Publicity Department of the General Political Department of the PLA
and the Chinese Musicians Association at which the leaders related and
musicians from the military and civilian organizations were invited to
discuss the successful creation and performance of the symphony.
The participating experts held that the Chinese national musical
symphony Long March with synchronous background TV pictures created by the
Qianwei Art Troupe themed on the important revolutionary and historical
subject, had based itself on the charm of the Chinese national
instrumental music to exalt the Long March, with the aid of the effect
produced by modern multimedia technology, and it is really a commendable
as well as successful exploration in the creation and performance of the
Chinese national musical instruments.

本报北京11月1日电 孟斌、记者卞振报道：由济南军区政治部前卫文工团创作、演出的民族交响音画《长征》，应国家文化部艺术司邀请进京汇报演出，赢得了首都军地观众的好评。今天上午，文化部艺术司、总政宣传部、中国音乐家协会联合举办作品研讨会，邀请有关领导和军内外音乐家对这台节目的成功创作、演出进行了研讨。
与会专家认为，前卫文工团创作的重大革命历史题材的民族交响音画《长征》，立足于民族器乐艺术本体，善于借助现代多媒体技术来颂扬长征，是我国民族器乐创作演出的一次可贵且成功的探索。
