The Chinese navy ship task force on its long voyage to visit the
United States, Canada and the Philippines left the North America 28 days
ago after it completed its visit to the United States and Canada. The task
force, made up of the No.113 Missile Destroyer and the No. 881
Comprehensive Replenishment Ship, sailed across the Pacific Ocean once
again and on October 26 arrived at Manila, capital of the Philippines,
kicking off its 5-day friendly visit to the country. Manila is the last
port of call for the Chinese navy ship task force on its current overseas
tour.
Yesterday, Manila harbor was full of pomp and splendor when the
Philippine Navy held a grand ceremony to welcome the Chinese navy ship
task force. Commodore Raul D Ruivivar, the fleet commander of the
Philippine Navy, Deng Xijun, Chinese Charge d'affairs to Philippines, and
Liu Zhongxiang, Chinese national defense attaché as well as local overseas
Chinese gathered at the harbor to welcome the Chinese sailors. The local
Chinese nationals and overseas Chinese held high a streamer with the
slogan saying "warmly welcome the Chinese navy ship task force to visit
the Philippines" to heartily welcome the dears ones form the motherland.
The Chinese navy ship task force paid its first visit to the
Philippines in 1997, and this is the third time for the Chinese navy ship
task force to visit the country, and also the third time for the No.113
Missile Destroyer to visit the Philippines.

本报马尼拉10月26日电
记者钱晓虎、特约记者钟魁润报道：由113号导弹驱逐舰和881号综合补给舰组成的中国海军出访美、加、菲舰艇编队从北美洲出发，经过28天的长时间航行，再次跨越太平洋，于今天上午抵达菲律宾首都马尼拉，开始为期5天的友好访问。马尼拉是中国海军舰艇编队此次出访的最后一站。
马尼拉港码头上气氛热烈，菲律宾海军在此举行隆重仪式欢迎中国海军舰艇编队来访。菲海军舰队司令鲁伊比瓦尔、我驻菲代办邓锡军和国防武官刘忠祥到码头迎接我来访官兵，当地华人华侨打着"热烈欢迎中国海军舰艇编队访问菲律宾"的横幅，由衷地欢迎祖国亲人。
自1997年中国人民解放军海军舰艇首次访问菲律宾以来，这是人民海军舰艇第3次访问该国。十分巧合的是，这也是113舰的第三次菲律宾之行。
