Liang Guanglie, member of the Central Military Commission and chief
of general staff of the PLA, has signed a circular recently to grant a
first-class collective merit to the Convention Implementation Office of
the PLA Anti-Chemical Command and Engineering Institute. The office,
established in 1997 based on the instruction of the Central Military
Commission, is to meet the requirements of the nation's implementation of
the international "Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC)". It mainly
undertakes missions entrusted by the government of joining the
international efforts to implement the CWC, including providing technical
support to the handling of chemical weapons abandoned by Japan in China.
Ever since it was established, the office has successfully played host to
six teams of inspection from the Organization for the Prohibition of
Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and obtained more than 40 research achievements.

日前,中央军委委员、总参谋长梁光烈签署通令,为防化指挥工程学院履约事务办公室荣记集体一等功。履约事务办公室是适应国家履行国际《禁止化学武器公约》需要,于1997年根据军委指示成立的,主要承担国家赋予的参加国际化武履约包括协助处理日本遗弃在华化学武器技术保障任务。自成立以来,他们先后6次圆满完成国际禁化武组织的核查接待任务,取得40多项科研成果。(崔巍、陈静) |
